86-FFA RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA,
TO THE SUPERVISOR OF ELECTIONS FOR
PALM BEACH COUNTY REQUESTING CON-
SIDERATION OF LOCATING BALTOT
TABULATING EQUIPMENT AT THE SOUTH
PAL~ BEACH COUNTY COURTHOUSE;
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Boynton Beach, Delray Beach and Boca Raton are
among the largest cities in Palm Beach County; and
WHEREAS, because of their relative distance from the central
courthouse in West Palm Beach, they are usually the last municipali-
ties to have their votes counted; and
WHEREAS, utilizing the South Palm Beach County Courthouse in
Delray Beach to tabulate votes would hasten the dissemination of elec-.
tion results regarding elections occurring in the South Palm Beach
County area.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Boynton Beach
hereby, requests the Supervisor of Elections to consider the location
of ballot tabulating equipment at the South Palm Beach County
Courthouse in order to facilitate the counting of ballots for munici-
pal elections in the South Palm Beach County area.
Section 2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed
to furnish a copy of this resolution to the Supervisor of Elections
for Palm Beach County.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect ir~nediately
upon adoption.
