3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA,
4 AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2023-2024 BUDGET FOR THE
5 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND (302) FROM $8,429,891 TO
6 $8,510,791 UTILIZING $80,900 OF FUND BALANCE AND APPROVE
7 TASK ORDER#UT-3E-08 BASED ON THE RFQ 046 -2821- 17/TP FOR
8 GENERAL CONSULTING SERVICES CONTRACT TO WEST
9 ARCHITECTURE + DESIGN, LLC, AS THE NEXT PRE -QUALIFIED
10 VENDOR FOR THE DESIGN OF THE EZELL HESTER CENTER
11 AIRNASIUM, IN THE AMOUNT OF $80,900.00; PROVIDING FOR AN
12 EFFECTIVE DATE.

15 WHEREAS, the Fiscal Year 2023 -24 Budget was adopted September 27, 2023; and
16 WHEREAS, The City of Boynton Beach is seeking to engage a design consulting firm
17 for the architectural and engineering design, permitting, bidding assistance, and basic
18 construction administration services for an Airnasium (pre-engineered open steel structure)
19 to cover the existing basketball courts in Ezell Hester Center; and
20 WHEREAS, The Hester Center Airnasium design project's initial source of funding will
21 be from Fund 302 reserves for $80,900; and
22 WHEREAS, the Capital Improvement Fund (302) will be amended to reflect the
23 increased total appropriation from $8,429,891 to $8,510,791; and
24 WHEREAS, accordingly staff is requesting Commission approval to amend the Fiscal
25 Year 2023-24 budget as noted specifically on Exhibit A.
26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
27 BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
28 Section 1. The foregoing "Whereas" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as
29 being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution upon adoption
30 hereof.
31 Section 2. The City Commission hereby approves amending the Fiscal Year 2023-
32 2024 Budget for the Capital Improvement Fund (302) accounts, which will adjust budgeted
33 appropriations, as noted on Exhibit "A," which Exhibit is attached hereto and incorporated
34 herein by reference.
35 Section 3. That the City Commission hereby approves the use of CIP fund balance

36 in the amount of $80,900.00 for Task Order# UT-3E-08 based on the RFQ 046 -2821- 17/TP
37 for General Consulting Services contract to West Architecture + Design, LLC as the next pre-
38 qualified vendor for the Design of the Ezell Hester Center Airnasium in the amount of
39 $80,900.00.
40 Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage.
41 PASSED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of January 2024.
