85-YRESOLUTION No. 85-y
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, ASSESSING
THE COSTS OF ABATEMENT OF CERTAIN NUISANCES
AGAINST THE OWNERS OF THE PROPERTY INVOLVED,
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City Manager or his designated represen-
tative of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, actin~ on and in
behalf of the City, has pursuant to Section 10-4 of the Code of
the City of Boynton Beach, found and determined that the con-
dition of certain property or parcels of land as hereinafter
described violates Sections 10-3 and 10-4 of said Code by reason
of the existence of excessive growth of weeds~ grass, vegetation
or other noxious plants or other offensive substance detrimental
to the health and welfare of the residents of the City, thereby
constituting a nuisance; and
WHEREAS, the owners of the parcel of property
hereinafter described were duly notified in accordance with
Section 10-4 of the City Code and were required to abate the
nuisance, as described in the notice to the owners within the
prescribed period of time; and ~
WHEREAS, said nuisance was not abated as required; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to and in accordance with Chapter 10
of the Code of the City of Boynton Beach, the city abated said
nuisance; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has made a report of costs
actually incurred by the City and abatement of said nuisance as
to the property involved, which is hereinafter described.
NOW, THEREFORE, be and it is hereby resolved by the City
Council of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida.
Section 1. That the amount of costs incurred by the
City and the abatement of the above-described nuisance as to the
parcels of land, owned and indicated to wit:
(SEE EXHIBIT ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF)
Subject amount is hereby assessed as liens against said parcels
of land as indicated, said liens as to said parcels of land shall
be of equal dignity with the taxes therefrom for the year 1985
and shall be enforced and collected in like manner pursuant to
applicable provisions of law.

Section 2. That the City Clerk be and she is hereby
iirected to record a certified copy of this Resolution in the
ffice of the Clerk of the Circuit Court in and for Palm Beach
County, Florida.
Section 3. That such liens shall bear interest from six
months after the date that they have been filed in the official
record books of Palm Beach County, Florida, at the rate of eight
(8%) per cent per annum until fully paid.
Section 4. That the City Clerk be and she is further
directed to notify, by certified mail, the registered owners of
the parcels of land named hereinabove, of the assessments of the
liens on their property.
Section 5. That this Resolution shall take effect imme-
diately upon its passage.
