An ordinance declaring the policy and purpose ef the City (~h) of

Insurauce, as authorized by the Federal Social Security Act, and emendments
thereto, upon the basis of applicable State and Federal laws or regulations;
authorizing and directing the Mayor (or other chief executive officer) to ex-
ecute agreements and amendments there~owith the State Agency authorized to ea-
ter into such agreements, subject to employee referendm~, for coverage of said
employees and officials, and to request such forefend.ma; providing ~for with-
holdings f~om salaries and wages of employees sad officials of said Oity (or
Town) so o~vered to be made and paid over as ~rcvided by applicable State cr
Federal laws or regulations; providing that said City (~ T~w~) shall appro-
priate and pay over employerts contributions, assessments, and referend~m
costs, as provided by applicable State or Federal laws or regulations; provid-

by applicable State or Federal laws or regulations; and providing that the effect
of this ordinance shall cease if a majority ~f the eligible employees de act vote

Section 1. It is hereby declared to be the policy and purpose of the City

the State Agency, and to request the Governor to authorize an employee referendum,
for the purpose of extending the benefits provided by said system of Gld Age and
