A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA,
RECOMMENDING AND REQUESTING THAT THE
METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION TAKE
WHATEVER STEPS ARE NECESSARY TO ENABLE
THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF PALM
BEACH COUNTY TO INCLUDE FUNDING FOR THE
WIDENING OF SEACREST BOULEVARD IN THE
84/85 LISTING OF CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT
PROJECTS AND RECOMMENDING AND REQUESTING
THAT THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
APPROVE SUCH FUNDING.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Palm
Beach County, Florida, has authorized the preparation of
design study for the widening of North Seacrest Boulevard;
and
WHEREAS, the widening of North Seacrest Boulevard
continues to be in need of widening and rebuilding; and
WHEREAS, the citizens of Palm Beach County continue
to support and encourage that this highway reconstruction
project take place; and
WHEREAS, North Seacrest Boulevard serves a major
north/south traffic artery for the County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1. The City Council hereby requests that
the Metropolitan Planning Organization take steps to include
the widening of North Seacrest Boulevard in its appropriate
highway programming for 84/85 funding and construction.
Section 2. The Board of County Commissioners of
Palm Beach County in considering its Capital Improvement
Budget for 1984/85 include funds for the widening of North
Seacrest Boulevard from the south side of the Boynton Canal
to Hypoluxo Road.
Section 3. A copy of this resolution shall be for-
warded to the Metropolitan Planning Organization of Palm
Beach County, to the Palm Beach County Board of County
Commission, the County Administrator and the County
Engineer.
Section 4. Recognition is made of the Palm
Beach County staff's response to Boynton Beach City
Council Resolution No. 83-JJJJ, which requested that the
City staff be involved in early design discussions on
North Seacrest Boulevard.
Section 5. This Resolution shall take effect
immediately upon passage.
