84-KRESOLUTION NO.- A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, URGING THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF PALM BEACH COUNTY TO ADOPT REGULATIONS REQUIRING THE INSTALLATION OF AT LEAST ONE THIRTY-TWO (32) INCH WIDE DOOR IN AT LEAST ONE BATH- ROOM IN EACH SINGLE FAMILY AND DUPLEX RESIDENCE IN PALM BEACH COUNTY; PROVIDING THAT A COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION BE SENT TO THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AND COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, finds it to be in the public interest to have access- ibility to single family and duplex residences by all residents and visitors theretor including the handicapped; and WHEREAS, the State Statutes concerning Accessibility by Handicapped Persons, Section 553.45, et seq., Florida Statutes, exempt from its provisions single family dwellings and duplexes; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, has recently enacted an amendment to its Ordinances so that all single family dwelling and duplex units constructed in the City shall have installed at least one thirty-two (32) inch wide door in a least one bathroom. NOW, THEREFORE BE AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Boyntor Beach, Florida, hereby requests and urges that the Board of County Commissioners of Palm Beach County, Florida, adopt legislation requiring greater accessibility by the handicapped ir each single family dwelling and duplex constructed in Palm Beach County. Section 2. A copy of this Resolution shall be fur- nished to the Board of County Commissioners and the County Administrator. Section 3.
