A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA,
REQUESTING APPROVAL TO FILE A GRANT
APPLICATION WITH THE STATE OF FLORIDA AND
TO AUTHORIZE AND DESIGNATE THE
EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS.
WHEREAS, funds for recreational development are
available through the State of Florida, Department of
Natural Resources; and
WHEREAS, the Boat Club Park is among the most popu-
lar intra-coastal waterway parks in Palm Beach County and
provides direct access to the Boynton Inlet.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE AND IT iS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Approval to file a grant appli-
cation with the State of Florida, Department of Natural
Resources, through the Florida Recreation Development
Assistance Program for matching funds totalling $250,000 to
be utilized for development of the Boat Club Park.
Section 2. Authorize and designate the expenditure
of $140,000 from the reserve for Parks and Recreation
Facilities Fund and $36,900 from the reserve for Boat Club
Park for the City's matching share of development funds for
said project.
