A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACHv
FLORIDA SUPPORTING GROWTH MANAGEMENT
PROPOSALS
WHEREAS, there are several current efforts taking place
in the City to address the issue of the future of Florida and
related concerns for growth management; and
WHEREAS, the Florida League of Cities is actively partici-
pating in this process through its o'wn special committee; and
WHEREAS, Dr. John M. DeGrove, Director of the FAU/FIU
Joint Center for Environmental and Urban Problems, has recently
presented some specific ideas concerning growth management with
particular reference ~to regional comprehensive planning, county
structural organizational changes through county charters,
changes in annexation laws, examination of the role of full
service cities and increased the State, county, and local
planning coordination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, THAT:
Section 1. The Mayor and City Council support further
review of the proposals put forth by Dr. DeGrove on January 5,
1983.
Section 2. The Mayor and City Council further resolve
that the Florida League of Cities include in its study of the
future of Florida specific attention to the ideas put forth by
Dr. DeGrove on January 5, .1983, which are aimed at effectively
addressing the role of cities in addressing current and developing
