A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, REQUESTING THAT
THE PALM BEACH COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMIS-
SIONERS RECONSTRUCT AND WIDEN SEACREST
BOULEVARD FROM SOUTH OF BOYNTON CANAL TO
HYPOLUXO ROAD
WHEREAS, Seacrest Boulevard is a major, north/south
thoroughfare in the County road system; and
WHEREAS, portions of Seacrest Boulevard have in the past
few years been widened from south of Bethesda Memorial Hospital
to south of Boynton Canal in two separate projects; and
WHEREAS, the remaining portion of Seacrest Boulevard
north of the Boynton Canal is in serious need of improvement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the Palm Beach County Board of County
Commissioners is urged to place on its Transportation System
Capital Projects List the design and construction for the
improvement of Seacrest Boulevard from south of the Boynton
Canal to Hypoluxo Road, so that the improvements are properly
designed to handle the heavy volume of traffic on this road, the
drainage problems along the road, while at the same time preparing
a design that provides that the improvements adequately address
the residential nature of Seacrest Boulevard.
Section 2. Further resolve that this Resolution be sent
to the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners with a
request that the Commission keep the City of Boynton Beach
informed concerning the developments that take place by the
County Commission in response to this Resolution.
