A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON
BEACH DECLARING CERTAIN AREAS AS BLIGHTED
AJ~NDING RESOLUTION NO. 82-~ TO EXPAND
THAT AREA PREVIOUSLY DECLARED SLUM AREA
AS DEFINED IN CHAPTER 163, PART III,
FLORIDA STATUTES; DECLARING A NEED FOR
REHABILITATION OF SUCH AREAS; FINDING
A NEED FOR A CO~VIUNITY REDEVELOPMENT
AGENCY AND CREATING SAID CO~IMUNITY
REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY; PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Boynton Beach,
Florida, hereby has previously found that one or more slum and
blighted areas as defined in Florida Statute 163.340 and exist
in the City of Boynton Beach; and
WHEREAS, after further investigation, it appears that
this area needs to be expanded; and
WHEREAS, a need for rehabilitation conservation or
redevelopment or a combinanion thereof is necessary in such
areas in the interest of public health safety morals or welfare
of the residents of Boynton Beach; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Boynton Beach
has previously created a Community Redevelopment Agency as a
public bOdy as provided in Florida Statute, Chapter 163, Part
III, Section 163.356; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Boynton Beach
finds it necessary to appoint a five member Community
Redevelopment Agency Board; and
WYfIEREAS, the Mayor and City Council of the City of
Boynton Beach find it necessary to designate the new areas
as part of the Community Development Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH THAT:
Section 1. One or more slum and blighted areas exist
in the City of Boynton Beach.
'Section 2. The rehabilitation, conservation and
redevelopment or a combination thereof of such area or areas
is necessary in the interest of public health safety morals
and welfare of the residents of such County and Municipality.
Section 3. That the City Council hereby expands the
area previously designated as blighted or slum area by the
addition of the following described areas, legal description
attached hereto as Exhibit "A".
Section 4. It is further resolved that the area
described above has:
A. A street layout that is predominately defective
and inadequate.
B. A lot layout that is faulty in relation to size,
adequacy, accessibility and usefulness·
C. An area that suffers from unsafe and unsanitary
conditions.
D. An area that, to a significant degree, has
deterioration of site and other improvements.
E. An area that has diversity of ownership which
prevents the free alienability of land.
F. An area in which there exists faulty and inadequate
street, parking facilities, roadways and bridges.
Section ~5. It is further resolved that the powers
of the Community Redevelopment Agency shall be exercised in
accordance with provisions of Florida Statute, Chapter 163,
Part III.
Section 6. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon adopting.

line of R.S. Merritt Subdivision as recorded in Plat Book 1, Page
68, said county records.
On the West by the East line of said R.S.Merritt Subdivision and
the East line of Lots 1, 2, and 3 of Civic Center a Subdivision
as recorded in Plat Book 12, Page 68, said county records and the
East line of a parcel of land owned by Seaglades Investment Co.
care of Holiday House Corp. as recorded in the Official Record
Book No. 2036, 'page 1236 in said county records, and the East line
of Lots 1 and 2, Block 2 and East line of Lot 2, Block 1 of said
Boynton Place.
