A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, CONCURRING WITH
THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT
OF TRANSPORTATION TO RESTRICT PARKING ON STATE
ROAD. 5 (U.S. 1) AT SOUTHEAST SECOND AVENUE.
WHEREAS, we have been made aware of a traffic hazard at
the intersection of State Road 5 (U.S. 1) at Southeast Second
Avenue due to curbside parking obstructing view; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to this knowledge, an on-site traffic
study was conducted by the Florida Department of Transportation
and Palm Beach County Traffic Division who recommend parking
restriction be imposed in order to improve t~ sight distance at
this intersection.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That, in concurrsnce with the Florida
Department of Transportation and Palm Beach County recommendations,
the City will proceed with the installation of parking restriction
smgns prohibiting parking within three hundred (300') feet of the
southeast corner of the intersection of State. Road 5 (U.S. 1) and
Southeast Second Avenue.
Section 2. That a certified copy of this Resolution be
forwarded to the Florida Department of Transportation and the Palm
Beach County Traffic Division.
