A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, URGING THE GOVERNOR AND
THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF FLORIDA TO ADOPT
LEGISLATION AUTHORIZINGA ONE-HALF PERCENT LOCAL
OPTION sALEs TAX~
WHEREAS, it has become increasingly evident that the ad
~alorem property tax will not be adequate in the future to provide
the revenues required by local governments for their services to
the citizens of the State; and
WHEREAS, the ever increasing ad valorem property taxes
are causing a severe burden upon many classes of property owners;
and
WHEREAS, the continuing failure of the Legislature to
)rovide alternative means of financing local gover, nment services
will require substantial increases in the ad valorem property
to maintain current levels of services; and
WHEREAS, the Legislature

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
