A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, REQUESTING
SUPPORT OF TIlE PALM BEACH COUbY~Y LEGISLATIVE
DELEGATDON FOR THE FUNDING OF AN ADDITIONAL
DRIVERS LICENSE OFFICE IN THE DELRAY/
BOYNTON BEACH AREA BY THE DEPARTmeNT OF HIGHWAY
SAFETY AND MOTOR VEHICLES OF THE STATE
OF FLORIDA.
WHEREAS, there has been a substantial population growth
in the Boynton Beach/Delray area in the last census, and pro-
jections of the Area Planning Board predict that this grov~h
will continue and increase.
I~4EREAS, the nearest drivers license issuing office to
this area is either in Lantana or Boca Raton and the workload of
these offices has been increased by the populations of the immediate

areas that they serve and at the present time individuals apolyzn~
for either new licenses or reissuances of licenses are required
to spend long hours standing in line in order to accomplish this
process.
Vehicles
WHEREAS, the Department of Highway Safety and Motor
of the State of Florida is requesting funding in their
1981-83 budget to increase the number of license issuing offices
in large population counties including Palm Beach County.
WHEREAS, it is the unanimous opinion of the City Counci
of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida that minimal level service
for the citizens requires the opening of a drivers license issu-
ance office in thm Boynton Beach/Delray area.
NOW,. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Council of
Florida requests and urges the support of
Legislative Delegation for the proposal that a drivers license
issuance office be opened in the Delray Beach/Boynton Beach area.

be forwarded to the members of the Palm Beach County Legislative
Delegation.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediatel
