LABORATORY TECHNICIAN TRAINEE .~TURE OF WORK This is a trainee position for the r~atine technical laboratory and/or field work in the penformancs of a variety of tests or procedures. An employee assigned to this class is responsible for assisting in conducting a ~variety of complex examinations, tests, and analysis; preparing, processing, and ~linden~ifying media cultures and laboratory specimens; conducting routine ch~ical and biological analysis~utilizing standard testing procedures and clearly defined laboratory and equipment practices. Possession of-a valid curren~ "A" water operators certificate issued by the state of Florida. .IN~ENTORY AND RECORDS CLER~ Dep't: Utilities Code: 0805 Characteristics of the Class: Under general supervision performs general inventory and record keeping work requiring specializedknowtedge of departmental needs, equip- men~, poIdcies a~d procedures. Incumbent is expected to ex~rcise iBdeuend~nt J~dgment and. to make routine inventory replacement deci- sions. Assistance is given to other departmental personnel in routine maintenance and repair of water meters. Performs other work as re~ quested. Examples of Duties: Establishes and maintains current record file system for all City water meters, by location, serial numbers, .and date of installation; notes service and repairs to meters on a ~aily basis. Maintains sufficient inventory of commonly used parts, equipment, and tools; maintains daily running record of inventory levels; orders replacemen~ parts when supplies become deple.ted. ~ Checks all incoming inventory ~against purchase orders and certifies as to completeness of shipments received; distributes parts and supplies; maintains daily distribution log by truck number and employee name of all parts and supplies disbursed.
