A RESQLUTION OF ~HE~CI~Y COUNCIL O~ THE CITY O~
BOYNTON BEACH, ~LORIDA., SUPPORTING .THE CONST~UCTTON
OF AN INTERC~E ON STATE ROAD 804 AT THE FLORIDA
TURNPIKE IN BOYNTON BEACH
WHEREAS, Boynton Beach is the third larq~sb City in Palm
Beach County; and
WHEREAS, Boy,ton Beach is the~ only city of its size with-
out direct access to an interchange on the Florida Turnpike; and
WHEREAS, Boynton Beach is projected to continue to grow at
phenomenal rates in the next ten years; and
WHEREAS, recently approved commercial and industrial
projects in and west of Boynton Beach will employ thousands of
people and will need and utilize convenient access to all trans-
~lportation arteries; and
WHEREAS, the Boynton Beach Comprehensive Plan recognizes
the need for an interchange in Boynton Beach, and the West Palm
Beach Urban Area Planning Organization's Plan for the year 2000
also confirms this need.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1: The City Council of the City of Boynton Beach
does wholeheartedly support the creation of an interchange on
State Road 804 at the Florida Turnpike in Boynton Beach.
Section 2: The City Council of the City of Boynton Beach
does hereby request that studies now being ;undertaken regarding
this interchange take into consideration the sizeable commercial
and industrial projects which have been approved and will soon be
under construction in the Boynton Beach area.
Section 3: The City Council of the City of Boynuon Beach
urges that the need for this interchange be considered and the
ultimate decision be made independently of any decision on changin~
the present toll system to a barrier system on the Turnpike.

does hereby support th~ action of the Gr~a. ter Boynton Beach
Chamber of Commerce as expressed in their Resolution dated
April 23, 1980.
