A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING RESOLUTION
NO. 79-HH, CONCURRING IN THE COUNTY'S CONCEPTUAL
DESIGN CONCEPT. FOR A FIFTY-FIVE (55) ACRE
RECREATIONA~ FACILITY I'N~BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA,
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City~ of Boynton Beach and-the Board of
County Commissioners of Palm Beach County recognize the shortage
of adequate recreation facilities in the South County Area to
properly service County and City residents, and
WHEREAs~ the City of Boynton Beach and t~e Board of
County Commissioners of Palm Beach County desire flO take coopera-
tive steps to alleviate the current and immediate deficiencies,
and
WHEREAS, the City Recreation and Park Advisory Board
and the Boynton Beach City Council have unanimously approved the
conceptual site plan for park development of subject property as
presented by the County, and
WHEREAS, the City of Boynton Beach has approved the
conceptual site plan for park development of an additional thirty
(30) acres of City property near the subject property to comple-
ment and supplement development of the subject property, based
upon
Palm Beach County recreational departments,
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:

The City of Boynton Beach, Florida, desires to
cooperate with the Board of County Commissioners
in their County wide park development efforts.
The City of Boynton Beach desires to transfer
ownership of approximately 55 acres of City
property located in Boynton Beach, Florida, to
the Board of County Commissioners of Palm Beach
County for the purpose of developing, operating
and maintainzng the project as a County park as
presented in the conceptual site plan, and hopes
that the City will be consulted on park develop-
ment as it proceeds, and that the Count~ will
cooperate with the City as related to utilization
of the facilities for City sponsored recreational
programs.
