A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, CREATING THE POSITION OF
MAINTENANCE MAN TRAINEE, AND PROVIDING THE DUTIES,
RESPONSIBILITIES, DESCl~IPTION, AND SALARY OF SAID
POSITION.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CIT~ OF BOYNTON
B EACH, FLOP~TDA:
Section 1. That the position of Maintenance Man Trainee
as a classified position is hereby created. The duties and
responsibilities of said office shall be in accordance with the
job description attached hereto and made a part hereof, at
Pay Grade 13. ~ ~~~

This is unskilled s_nd limited manual labor. An employee in this classi-
fication performs work of a light or heavy manual nature which does not require
a high degree of manipulative skill; however as work experie~nee is gained,
employees may be assigned to somewhat more difficult jobs.
Work is normally closely supervised and the emp!oyea receives specific
instructions at the beginning of each new job. As the employee becomes more
familiar with the duties of his position, constant supervision may not be
necessary for routine and repetitive jobs. Work may inelude heavy lifting
and similar strenuous tasks.
ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORK

types of work performed in this classification. The omission of specific
statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is
similar, related, or a logical assignment for this position.)
Loads and unloads construction and maintenance materials.
Collects, rakes and loads grass and brush; mows lawns and cleans grounds
at various municipal facility areas as assigned. Waters, a~_d assists in the
care of flowers, shrubs, trees and grass am these installations.
Assists in digging grades, setting forms for concrete, wheels needed
msterials to construction or repair sites, taps and levels concrete and
asphalt.
Assists in the pouriD~ of concrete, filling pavement cracks with ~required
materials.
Collects, loads and unloads garbage, trash~ refuse and debris.
Cleans, washes, polishes and sanitizes garbage packers and trucks.
Assists with all repairs and maintenance to water and sewer lines as
directed.
Ability to anderstand and follow oral directions.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with
other employees and the general public.
QUALIFICATIONS
Elementary school education to at least sixth g~de; or amy equivalent
of training and experience which provides the necessary knowledges, abilities
and skills.
Possession of a current, valid Florida driver's license.
