A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, CON-
CURRING IN THE COUNTY'S CONCEPTUAL

ESIGN COHCEpi FOR A FIFTY-FIVE (55)
ACRE RECREATIOHALFACILITY IN BOYNT6N
BEACH, FLORIDA A~X~DFOR OTHER PURPOSES
WHEREAS, the City of Boynton Beach and the Board of
County Commissioners of Palm Beach County recognize the shortage
of adequane .recreation facilities in the South Counny Area to
properly service County end City residents, and
WHEREAS, the Ciny of Boynton Beach mnd the Board of Count'
Commissioners o:f Palm Beach County desire to take cooperative
sneps to alleviate the current and immediate deficiencies, and
~HEREAS, the City Recreation and Park Advisory Board and
the Boynton Bea~ch City Council have unanimously approved the con-
ceptual site plan for park development of subject properny as
presented by the County~ and
~EREAS, the City of Boynton Beach has approved the con-
ceptual site plan for park development of an additional 30 acres
of City property near the subject property to compliment and suppl!-
ment development of the subject property, based upon plans jointly1
prepared by the City of Boynton Beach and Palm Beach County recrea~
tional departments.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
The City of Boynton Beach is desirous of transferring
o~ership of approximately 55 acres of city property located in
Boynton Beach to the Board of County Commissioners of Palm Beach
County provided an appropriate agreement between the Ciny of
Boynton Beach and Palm Beach County based upon the following
conditions can be reached:
1. The County agrees to develop, operate, and maintain
the property as a County park as presented in the conceptual site
and assumes all financial obligations of development, opera-
tion, and maintenance.
2. The County acknowledges the immediate need and shall
consider the park development project as a high priority item
with respect to funding and subsequent development~
3. The City shall be consulted as no the establishment
of
Phase Developmenn Priorities of the subject property.
4. The County will, upon park completion, cooperane
the City as relaned to utilization of the facilities for
Ciny-sponsoreJ recreational programs.
5. The County would be willing to
