79-EERESOLUTION 79- ~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR THE DEMOLITION OF UNSAFE AND UNSOUND STRUCTURES PURSUANT TO: THE CO'DE OF ORDI~NANrCES OF ~HE-C~TYOF BiOYNTON :BEACH~FLORtDA, REQUESfING ~HAT ~ B~ARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF PALM BEACHCOUNTY, FLORIDA, DEMOLISH SUCH UNSAFE STRUCTURES AND IMpoSE LIENS AGAINST THE )ARCELS FOR T~E COST OF DEMOLITION: WHEAREAS, the City Manager of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, has caused an investiga.tion to-be conducted by the municipal building, e~ginee~ing ~no sanitation departments to discover the existence of unsafe andunsound buildings within the City of Boynton Beach; and WHEREAS, said departments have filed thei:r reports with the City Manager, and the City Manager nas made his recommendation to the City Council that the DroDerties listed in the attached schedule have located thereon dilapidated, unsound and unsafe buildings and structures which constitute public hazards and nuisances, aha that said structures and buildings should De demolished, and removed in order ~o protect the Public healt~ and safety of the inhabitants of the City of Boynto~ Beach, Florida; and WHEREAS, due notice has been furnished to the owners of Subject properties ~equesting voluntary demolition of subject structures; ana WHEREAS, said owners have failed and refused to comply with said direction NOW, THEREFORE, BE AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AS EOLLOWS: Sectio[ 1. That the City Council finds that unsafe and unsound structures exist on the properties described in the schedule attached hereto ano maae a mart hereof which should be removed by demolition, at the cost of the owners of said parcels, in order to protect the public health, safety and welfare of the inhabitants of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida; and baseo upon said findings, respectively requests that tPe Board of County Commissioners of Palm Beach County, Florida, institute necessary steps for the demolition and removal of said unsafe structures and to impose liens against subject parcels for the cost thereof. Section 2. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage. PASSED AND ADOPTED ~his 3rd day of July, 1979.
