79-U RESOLUTION NO. 79- ~ A RESOLU~%ON OF THE~CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY O~ ~0Y~TONBEAd~,~ FLORIDA~ APPOINTING P~TER L.~CH~NEY AS 'C~Y MANAGER A~ STATING THE TEmMS AaND CONDITIONS OF HIS E~,mLOYMENT WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, wishes to employ Peter L. C~eney, as City Manager and has offered said position to him; mud WHEREAS, Peter L. Cheney is desirous of accepting this appointment to serve as City Manager under the terms and conditions hereinafter contained; and ~EREAS, the City Council agrees to said terms and con- ditions of employment; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Peter L. Cheney is appointed no the Office of City Manager of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, to serve an the pleasure of the City Council beginning May 7, 1979 on the following terms and conditions: A. Annual Salary of $31,469.52, payable in equal monthly payments of $2,622.46. B. The City shall orovide the same hosoitaliza- tion (Blue Cross and Blue Shield), Life Insur- ance and Disability Insurance~. that it provides for all of its employees. C. Annual paid vacation of three (3) weeks. D. The City shall orovide Peter L. Cheney with the use of an automobile during his nerm as City Manager. E. The City shall reimburse Peter L. Cheney for all normal moving expenses connected with moving from the State of New Hampshire no Boynnon Beach, Florida~ F. Should Peter L Cheney ever be discharged or requested to resign by a majority of the City Council at a time when he has no other employ- ment available, the City agrees no pay him two (2) months severance pay upon his leaving office. Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect immedi- ately upon its passage.
