A RESOLUTION OF~THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, REQUESTING THAT THE
DEPARTMENTOF TRANSPORTATION, STATE OF FLORIDA,
CONDUCT A FEASABILITY STUDY ON THE PLACEMENT OF
TRAFFIC SIGNALS AT 2010 AND 2870 SOUTH FEDERAL
HIGHWAY IN THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA,
TODETE~RMiNE iF THE~:DANGEROUS CONDIT~iONS AT
THESE INTERSECTIONS CA~]BE ELIMINATED.
WHEREAS, si§nj ficant amOunts of traffic enter onto South Federal Highway
in the City of Boyn%on Beach, Florida, without the aid of a traffic signal
at 2010 South Federal Higbw,~y (GulfStream Condominium Development), and at
2870 South Fede,ral Highway (Colonial Club Development); and
WHEREAS, during peak traffic hours a dangerous situation does exist
at these two intersections, and it appears that these situations could be
eliminated by the placement there of traffic signals; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, is
desirous of having the Department of Transportation, State of Florida~ con-
duct such study or studies as to determine the feasability of placing such
traffic signals at these intersections to remedy the existing dangerous
situatiom.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLL'OWS:
Section l: The Department of Transportation, State of Florida, is
requested to conduct such traffic study or studies as are necessary to de-
termine the feasability of placing traffic signals at 2010 South Federal
Highway and at 2870 South Federal Highway.
Section 2: The Department of Transportation, State of Florida, is
requested to implement such modifications at these intersections as are
necessary to remeay the dangerous situations there existing.
Section 3. That the City Clerk is directed to furnish a certified
copy of this Resolution to William K. Fowler, P.E., District Engineer,
Fourth )istrict, Department of Transportation, State of Florida.
Section 4.

This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its
