79-KResolution No. 79- K A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY CCUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR THE DEMOLITION OF UNSAFE AND UNSOUND STRUCTURES PURSUANT TO THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, RE- QUESTING THAT THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF PALM BEACH COUNTY, DEMOLISH SUCH UNSAFE STRUCTURES AND IMPOSE LIENS AGAINST THE PARCELS FOR THE COST OF DEMOEIIIDN,-~ WHEREAS, the City Manager of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, has caused an investigation to be conducted by the municipal building, engineering and sanitation departments to discover the existence of unsafe and unsound buildings within the City of Boynton Beach; and WIq~REAS, said departments have filed their reports with the City Manager, and the City Manager has made his reco,',~ndation to the City Council that the properties listed in the attached schedule have located thereon dilapidated, unsound and tmsafe buildings and structures which constitute public hazards and nuisances, and that said structures and buildings should be demolished and removed in order to protect the public health and safety of the inl~bi- tants of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida; and WHA/IEAS, due notice has been furnished to the owners of subject propertiE requesting volentarily demolition of subject structures; and WHEREAS, said owners have failedand refused to comply with said direction. NOW, THEREFORE, B~ AND IT IS HERF_~Y RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNC]LOF THE CITY OF ~f~l BEA~I, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: That the City Council finds that unsafe and unsound structures exist on the properties described in the schedule attached hereto mad made a part hereof which sould be removed by demolition, at the cost of the owners of said parcels, in order to protect the public health, safety and welfare of the inhabitants of t~he City of Boynton Beacg~, Florida; and based upon said findings, respectfully requests that tb~ Board of County Compissioners of Palm Beach Co"~nty, Florida, institute necessary steps for the demolition and rem~mal of said unsafe structures and to impose liens against subject parcels for the cost thereof. Section 2: That this Rmsolution shall take effect J_nnmdiately upon its passage. PASSED and ADOPTED this 20th day of February, 1979.
