A RESOLUTION OF. THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA;
REQUESTING THAT THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES
OF AMERICA~ USE HIS AUTHORITY TO MEET THE CHALLENGE
OF HIGHLY CONCENTRATED ILLEGAJZ DRUG IMPORTATION AC-
TIVITIES RAMPANT IN THE SOUTH FLORIDA AREA ; TO SEND
FORCES NECESSARY TO COPE WITH THIS PROBLEM.
WHEREAS, It

Palm Beack County, Florida; do not have sufficient numbers of of-
ficers to cope with this Nationally-oriented criminal acuivity on
a local basis, and
WHEREAS, Federal and State agencies here expected to com-
bat the illegal drug traffic effectively are woefully understaffed
for the task at hand, and
WHEREAS, It is the responsibility of the President a~d hit
Branch of government to enforce the Federal Laws of the United
States of America;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section t: That the President of the United States of
America be called upon to exercise his authority in the herein
mentioned matter and send forces sufficient to halt the flow of
illicit drugs into South Florida and apprehend the criminals.
Section 2: That the President take this course of action
with all due expediency.

Section 3: Copies of this Resolution be sent to Senatorsl
and Representatives of the State of Florida, and all members of
the Palm Beach County Legislative Delegation of the Board of C6m-
missioners of Palm Beach County, Florida; and they be urged to
back the President in this urgent matter.
Section 4: This Resolution shall
upon passage.
