78-PPRESOLUTION NO. 78-PP
WHEREAS, the City Manager of the City of Boynton Beach,
Florida~ has caused an investigation to be conducted by the muni-
cipal building, engineermng and sanitation departments to discover
the existence of unsafe and unsound buildings within the City of
Boynton Beach; and
WHEREAS~ said departments have filed their reports with
the City Manager and the City Manager has made his recommendation
to the 2ity Council that the property listed in the attached
schedule have loeated thereon dilapidated, unsound an~ unsafe
buildings and structures which 2onstitute public hazards and
nuisances~ and that said structures and buildings should be
demolished and removed in order to proteet the public health and
safety of the inhabitants of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida;
and
WHEREAS, due notice has been furnished to the owners of
subject property requesting voluntarily demolition of subject
structures; and
WHEREAS, said owners have f~iled and refused to comply
with said direetion.
NOW, THEREFORE,. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1: That the City 2ouncil finds that unsafe and
unsound structure exist on the property described in the attached
sehedule whieh should be removed by demolition, at the cost of
owners of said pareel~ in order to protect the public health,
safety and welfare of the inhabitants of the City of Boynton
Beaeh~ Florida; and based upon said findings~ respectfully
requests that the Board of County Commissioners of Palm Beach
County, Florida~ institute necessary steps for the demolition and
remeval of said unsafe structures and to impose liens against
subject parcel for the cost thereof.
