A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH
S%/~PORTING THE CONCEPT OF THE NEED FOR EARLY
WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR BEING
LOCATED IN THE COUNTY OF PALM BEACH, FLORIDA.
WHEREAS, the City of Boynton Beach, Florida is aware of
the importance of early storm warnings to tha well-being of the
citizens of this county; and
~HEREAS, the present Miami based weather radar system
is subject to and has experienced power failure thus interrupting
warning service to the Palm Beach County area; and
WHEREAS, this area's National Weather Service official
in charge stated that an installation of such a radar system in
this County would prevent the interruption of said warning
service.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
BOYI~TON BEACH, FLORIDA:
That the City supports the concept of having an early
warning weather Radar installation in such a location as to allow
the National Weather Service personnel in this area to have the
tool needed to provide early warning to the citizens of Palm
Beach County in the event of s serious storm threat.
