AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CiTY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA,
AMENDING CHAPTER 2 ADMINISTRATION, BY
AMENDING SECTION 2-13.5(C) TO PROVIDE FOR
STAGGERED TERMS ON THE COMMUNITY
REDEVELOPMENT ADVISORY BOARD; PROVIDING
FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, CODIFICATION
AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, currently each member and alternate member of
the Community Redevelopment Advisory Board (CRAB) is appointed
for a one (1) year term; and
WHEREAS< the City Commission of the City of Boynton
Beach, Florida has determined that staggered terms would
provide more continuity on the CRAB Board;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1.
That Chapter 2., Section 2-13.5(c) is
hereby amended by adding the words and figures in underlined
type and by deleting the words and figures in struck-through
type, as follows:
Section 2-13.5 Community redevelopment advisory
board for the central business district; created,
appointment, terms, duties
(c)
The community redevelopment advisory board for
the central business district (CRAB-CBD) shall
serve at the discretion of the city
commission. The city commission shall appoint
five (5) members and one (1) alternate member
to serve on the community redevelopment
advisory board for the central business
district (CRAB-CBD). Appointments to the
board shall be made by the city commission.
Each member and alternate member ~
~~ ~ ...... '~ ..... ~ shall be
appointed to staqgered terms as follows:
Two members appointed to three-year
terms, two members appointed to two-year
terms and two members appointed to one-
year terms, and may upon majority vote of
the commission, be reappointed for
consecutive terms.
Section 2.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
Section 3. Should any section or provision of this
ordinance or portion hereof, any paragraph, sentence or word
be declared by a court of competent jurisdiction to be
invalid, such decision shall not affect the remainder of this
ordinance.
