BE IT ORDAINE~ BY T~E TO~N OONMISSION OF TEE TO~N OF BOYNTON, PA~M BEA~E COUNTE~ FLORIDA SE~TION 1. The Town Clerk of the Town of Boynton, Palm Beach, Ooumty, Flerida~ shall keep a Registration Bo~k, in which shall be ~eoorded the names, addresses and ages (at the time of registration) ef all persoms qualified te vote in a~y elec- tion held in and for the said Town ef Boynton, Florida; and no person shall be entitled to vote at any election held i~ and for the sai~ Town who shall not have~ registered with the said Town Clerk or his duly appointed Deputy at least ten (1©) days prior te any election at which such person s~all vote or attempt to vote. SE~ION 2~ Those persons who shall have~ prior to the pas- sage of this Ordtnance~ been registered voters of the Town ~f Boynton, Florida, shall be required to re-register under he p~ovisions of this Ordinance, a~d for the p~rpose of re- registration, the Town clerk of the Town of Bo._y~.on shall~ open the new Registration Beck on the fourth (~$~). day ef Janus~y, A. D. 1~ and shall keep such .book open in ~he on Saturdays, (legal Holidays Excepted), until s~oh time as the Registration Book shall be opened i~aeeordance with the prov- isions of Section Four (~) of this Ordinance. SECTION 3. Every persom who is a ~ualified voter under the provisions herei~a~ove set forth~ and who has been a bona fide resident of the State of Florida for twelve (12) months, and of the Town of Boynton fo~ mix (~) months next preceding any general or special election held in and for said Town, and who is a citizen of the United States, either by birth or na~rati- za~ion, shall be entitled to vote in any and all elections held in an~ for the said T~wn of Boynton, Palm Beach County, Florida. eXcept in elections where qualifications are otherWise prescrib ed by the Constitution or ~tatutes of the Sta~e of ~lorida i~ force and effect at the time of the holding of such elections. ~EOTiON 6. Whenever am elector shall have duly registered under the provisions ~f this Ordinance, if he or she is qualified under the farther ~rovisions ef this Ordinance, his er her name shall remain on the said Registration BoOk an~ he or she shall be deemed a qualified voter te vote in any and all Town Elections held in and for the Town of B0ynton, Florida, provided he or she is otb~rwise qualified as hereinbefore provided. SECTION ?. The payment of Poll er Capitation tax~s shall not be a pre-requisite te the rip, bt to vote in any election hel~ in and for the Town of Beynton, Palm Beach County~ FIcridae SECTION 8. The Town 0o~ission shall, at it's first Regular Meeting ef each year, examine and revise the Registra tion Book of Town, striking therefrom the names of all voters who have died, removed from the Town or have otherwise become disqualified to vote, a~d upom the presentation of acceptable e~idence~ restoring the names of any voters whose names have been ~tricken. At any meeting of the Term Commission held at least ten days prior to a~y election, the ~ame of any voter erroneously strikenmay accordimgy,1 be restored to the Registration Book by the Commission. SECTION 9. The Town Oommissien shall prepare er cause to be prepared the official ballot for each regular and special election of t~e Town. Each n0mination shall be made by the filing of a petition sigmedby at least twenty-five (2~) duly qualified voters of the Town of Boynton or by a certtfi-' cate signed bythe Chairm~_~ o~ Secretary ef any mass meeting held withi~ the Town, at which the nomination shallhave bee~ ~dee shall tire twen~ in ~ppe~ of the name cf the particular halter.. All such fees eel- ted for the use ef neminatians shall be made at least the date of the election. The electors, shall not be confined to t~e names ef the cand~- dates set forth upon the official balle~ but may substitute names cf other Ca~di~a~es to be written ~upon theballots by the electors. None but the official ballot shall be used. SECTION 10. It shall be lawful for a~y qualified elector of the Town of Boynton, Florida, who may be absent from sai~ Tc~n ef Boynton om the occurrence of any general or special election hereafter held pursuant to law in said Tew~, to vote at such election in the manner and upon the conditions here- inafterprovided. Any qualified elector, who expects to be absen= qualified Deputy for an official ballot to be used at the voting place in the said Town of Boyntcn~ Florida, and it is hereby made the duty of the Town Clerk or his dut~ appoin=ed,Deputy to furnish one such official ballot to each elector so applying therefor at ar~ time not more than fifteen days net less three days next prior to the day of such election, upon satisfactery preef of such Town Clerk or his duly appointedand qualtfted Deputy, as the case may be, that the applicant there- for is qualified to vote at such election and upon such electer taking and subseribi~g to the following oath or affidavit which is to~e printed upon the front of large envelopes to be furn- ished the Town Clerk or his duly qualified Deputy for that pur- pose, to-wit: "State of Florida, Oo~nty of Palm Beach, Town of Beynton."
