77-IIIRESOLUTION NO. 77-~I~ WHEREAS it has been evident for many years that faciliti~ for the performing arts are sorely needed in Palm Beach County, and WHEREAS no auditorium in the 3,000 seat range in Palm Beach County has the acoustical properties and proscenium stage necessary for proper presentation of symphony concerts, opera, drama, ballet, musical plays, popular music and jazz, and all varities of musical performance; and WHEREAS an increase in the number of facilities for con- ventions, political rallies, lectures and other meetings would be highly desirable for the more than 500,000 residents of Palm Beach County; and WHEREAS problems involving site, parking, maintenance, ement and insurance which have plagued previous efforts to obtain a Performing Arts Center have been solved by Palm Beach Junior College, and WHEREAS a Community Performing Arts Center at Palm Beach Junior College would be of great educational value to the college students of our area, and WHEREAS evidence of local support is almost always nec- when efforts to obtain funding from state, federal and e foundation sources are made; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of City of Boynton Beach, Florida endorses the proposed Community ~ing Arts Center at Palm Beach Junior College, and will suppo to obtain this desirable facility, and urges other govern- organizations, clubs, foundations, and private citizens to the effort to obtain a Community Performing Arts Center at Beach Junior College.
