77-OORESOLUTION NO~. 77-00 WHEREAS, the Property Appraisor of Palm Beach County, Florida has recently dramatically raised assessment ~alues of property in Palm Beach County, and WHEREAS, the governing body of the City of Boynton Beach Florida, on behalf of its citizens, ~is inherently fearful that taxing authorities will retain former millage rates, thereby resulting in substantial increases in taxes to the tax payers of Palm Beach County, Florida, and in this regard, said body has unanimously agreed to substantially decrease its millage rate in connection with its budgetary consideration~'~for~f~isc~!~y~ar 1977-78, and WHEREAS, The City Council of the City.of Boynton Beach, Florida, earnestly requests the Board of Commissions of Palm Beach County, and the Palm Beach County School Board, to apply the same reasoning during their budgetary and millage considerati for the ensuing fiscal year. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Board of Commissione~ of Palm Beach County, Florida and the Palm Beach County School Board are earnestly and urgently requested to lower any establish~ millage rates for the next fiscal year to reflect the increased property appraisal values recently placed upon property in Palm Beach County, Florida by the Palm. Beach County Appraisor, and further, that all efforts be exerted by said Boards toward the end of governmental economy in order to lessen, in all cases pos- sible, the tax burden upon the citizens of this County.
