77-XRESOLUTION NO. 77-X
WHEREAS, based upon the explosive growth of the metropolitan
Boynton Beach area, it is readily apparent that it is essential
that adequate public recreation facilities will be needed to ac-
comodate present and future population, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Boynton Beach, Flori
recognizes the Boynton Beach Inlet area as an excellent recreation
site and deems it essential that adjacent privately owned land be
acquired to expand said facilities;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1: That the Board of County Commissioners of Palm
Beach County is urgently requested to initiate immediate steps to
purchase said privately owned land adjacent to the existing Bo
Beach Inlet recreation facilities from available funds and that
said land be improved at the earliest possible date for the pur-
pose of affording Palm Beach County residents with additional
needed recreational facilities.
