A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA,
AMENDING PROVISIONS OF MUNICIPAL CIVIL SERVICE RULES
AND REGULATIONS PERTAINING~ TO LEGAL HOLIDAYS.
WHEREAS, pursuant to provisions of Section 72.9 of the Char-
ter of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, the municipal Personnel
Officer has heretofore prepared and recommended an amendment to
Section 2, Rule XI~ of the existing municipal Civil Service Rules
~nd Regulations of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, to provide
for clarification of establishment of legal holidays, and
WHEREAS, the City Manager of the City has reviewed and ap-
proved said recommendation without'modification, and
~THEREAS, after review of said pr.oposed amendment the City
Council deems that same is in the best interest of the City, the
municipal employees of the City and will provide for a more ef~
ficient operation of the municipal Civil Service system.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACtt, FLORIDA:
Se~cfion' 1: That Section 2, Rule XI of tke existing Civil
Service Rules and Regulations of the City of Boynton Beach~ Florid~
be and the same is hereby amended to read-
"SECTION 2~ LEGAL HOLIDAYS: Legal Holidays to be observed
by the City~e employees unless such employees are required to be
on regular duty are New Year~s Day, Washington~.s Birthday~ Memoria
Day~ Independence Day~ Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran's Day~
Thanksgi.ving Day~ Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and such other
days as may be. specifically designated from time to time by the
City Council. The City Manager and COuncil ~eserves the. right to
declare these and any other holidays on a date designated by them;
such date. does. not necessarily have to be on the specified tra-
ditional date but on a date that meets the best interest, of the
Se.c[ion 2: That in. all other respects the existing municip~
Civil Service Rules and Regulations of the City of Boynton Beach~
Florida are hereby ratified and confirmed.
