77-PRESOLUTION NO. 77-P
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA
RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 76-BB, WHICH DECLARED THE
NEED FOR A HOUSING AUTHORITY IN THE CITY OF BOYNTON
BEACH, FLORIDA.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, on
May 4, 1976, enacted Resolution No. 76-BB, declaring the need for a housing
authority in the City of Boynton Beach 'under the provisions of Chapter 421,
Florida Statutes; and
WHEREAS, subject action taken by the City Council of the City of
Boynton Beach, Florida was of an exploratory nat'ure to determine whether
or not the housing problems existing within the City could be more effectively
dealt with 'under the provisions of said law; and
WHEREAS, upon reflection, it is deemed that the delegated duties and
powers~vested-in .the ,.authority created under the provisions of the above
law are too broad and encompassing and constitute an unwise delega~ion of
authority by the elected officials of this municipality; and
WHEREAS, ample existing ordinances of the City enable the munici-
pality to cope with and eliminate any housing problems presently existing
within the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1; That Resolution No. 76-BB,
hereby rescinded in its entirety,
is hereby declared abolished.
