76-EEE RESOLUTION NO. 76-'EEE A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE FLORIDA PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION OPPOSING CUSTOMER RATE INCREASE REQUESTED BY FLORIDA POWER AND LIGHT COMPANY. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, has been advised that Florida Power and Light Company has requested or will soon request the Florida Public Service Commission for authority to increase the rates of utility charges imposed upon its customers; and WHEREAS, it is believed that, in considering the advisability of granting such rate increase, the Public Service Commission should undertake a scrupulous review of the financial records of Florida Power and Light Company, with emphasis upon the need to discover whether the gross revenues of that company have significantly ~in- ~. creased as a result of its expanded customer market, the introduction and use of a variety of new electrical appliances by these customers, the ability of claiming sub- stantial investment tax credits, and widespread personnel layoffs. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1: That the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, respectfully requests members of the Florida Public Service Commission to oppose the approval of any cus- tomer rate increase requested or about to be requested by the Florida Power and Ligh Company. Section 2: That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to each member of the Florida Public Service Com- mission at their offices located at 700 South Adams Street, Tallahassee, Florida 32304 PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS day of , 1976.
