76-R RESOLUTION NO. 76-R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, RESPECTFULLY REQUESTING THAT THE FLORIDA STATE LEGISLATURE ENACT LEGISLATION PROHIBITING THE USE OF DISPOSABLE CONTAINERS FOR CERTAIN BEVERAGES WITHIN TI-IE STATE OF F L©RIDA. WHEREAS, disposable or throwaway bott[es or cans cause Iii%er, use more energy and natural resources and in.crease the cost of beverages; and WHEREAS, the 37 Palm Beach County Municipalities have greater than usual litter problems because of tourists; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1: That the City of Boynton Beach respectfully requests that the Florida State Legislature in its 1976 Session enact [egis.[ation prohibiting the use of disposable or throwaway containers for ~certain beverages within the State of Florida. Section 2: That the City Manager of the City of Boynton Beach is hereby authorized to deliver copies of this Resolution to the Governor of the State of Florida, the President of the Florida Senate, the Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives and the Members of the Palm Beach County Legis[ative De legation.
