AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AN EQUITABI~ ADJUSTMENT OF TAXES~
REDUCTION OF SPECIAL~ ASSESS~ENTS ~A~ITHIN T0¥~No
~¥~ERF~S the Town of Boynton is due from delinquent taxes
an approximate amount of ~19~0t~i represented by taxes
which have been de!inque~t for several years~ and
~¥HER~S in some instances the Con,mission deems the
amoumt of accvunulated taxes to be more than is the value of
the land so taxed, which taxes include State, County and
District taxes, as well as assessment liens upon some of
the lands; and
~EREAS by aenate Bill #7~, 19~! Session of the
Florida Legislature, the Towm is authorized by ordinance
to equitably adjust such taxes and s~¢ial assessments
within said Town;
THEREFORE, BE iT ORDAINED BY THE T0~J~' C0~ISSIONERS
of the Town of Boynton, Palm Beach County, State of Florida,
pu~rsuant to Section 8, Senate Bill ~7~6, Laws of Florida
19~t, that the Co~nis si on is authorized to equitably adjust
the payment of delinquent taxes on a ba~s ~not- amounting
to discrimination for the year 1950 and prior-years, pro-
vid~d, however, that the owner of said lands may pay or
redeem said taxes, or tax sale oertificates held~by the
Tovaa, on such equitable adjustmemt, condi~tioned upon the
-payment of the 195t taxes as assessed that year.
That the Town Commission of the Town of Boynton shall
reduce al! special assessments which are represented by
assessment liens upon land' for improvement work on a basis
of fifty per cent. (80%) reduction om all of the streets
~ ' - pon
within said Town~ excepting Dixie ~lghway, that u
Dixie Highway there shall be a thirty per cent. (~0%o) re-
duction of such assessments such reductions to be figured
on the amount of principal and interest due as of January
1st, A. D. 1932.
The above 0rdina~ce No. 116, having been placed upon
its first reading at a Regular ~ieeting of the Town Co~nission
of the Town of Boynton~ Florida, held on the 5th day of
January~ A. D. 19327 was placed upon its final reading
and duly adopted at a Regular ~esting of said Commission
held on January 19th, A. D. !932, and a copy thereof
~. posted at the door of the Town Hall.
