75-TTRESOLUTION NO'. 75-TT
A RESOLUTION ~F THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA,
ESTABLISHING AND ORGANIZING A MUNICIPAL DISASTER
PREPAREDNESS (iCIVIL DEFENSE) AGENCY FOR SAID CITY
PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 252, FLORIDA STATUTES, AS
AMENDED; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, it has been found and determined by the City
Council of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, that public safety
and welfare and necessity demand that a local organization for
disaster preparedness (Civil Defense) be established; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 252, Florida Statutes, as amended,
authorizes each municipality to establish a Disaster Preparedness
(Civil Defense) Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1: That there is hereby authorized and established
a Disaster Preparedness (Civil Defense) Department for the City
of Boynton Beach, and that said Department shall be known as the
Boynton Beach Disaster Preparedness (Civil Defense) Department
and its membership shall be composed of the City Council and the
Disaster Preparedness Coordinator.
Section 2: That the said Boynton Beach Disaster Prepared-
ness (Civil Defense) Department shall be and is hereby empowered
to do all such things as it shall deem necessary for the promotion
of disaster preparedness in said City and which are authorized by
Chapter 252, Florida Statutes, as amended, with regard to
municipal disaster preparedness (Civil Defense) readiness.
Section 3: That the Fire Chief of the City of Boynton

appointed coordinator of the Boynton Beach Disaster Preparedness
(Civil Defense) Department, subject to the overall supervision
and direction of the City Council of the City of Boynton Beach.
Section 4: That this Resolution shall take effect
immediately upon its passage.
