75-NRESOLUTION NO. 75-N
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA,
RECOMMENDING TO THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF PALM BEACH COUNTY THAT MEDIAN STRIPS BE INCLUDED
IN THE FOUR LANING AND GENERAL IMPROVEMENT OF
SEACREST BOULEVARD FROMTHE SOUTH CITY LIMITS OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH NORTHWARD TO THE BOYNTON
BEACH CANAL.
WHEREAS, the tremendous growth of the area and the
resultant heavy motor vehicle traffic upon the North-South thor-
oughfares throughout the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, has
created hazardous and congested conditions upon Seacrest BOht~vard
as a principal two-lane North-South roadway, thereby creating a
very grave need for an improved major North-South arterial
roadway in addition to U. S. Highway No. 1; and
WHEREAS, Palm Beach County is in the process of widening
and improving said roadway imm~ediately south of the Boynton
Beach city limits and will be proceeding northward through said
City in the near future; and
~fHEREAS, the City Council of Boynton Beach deems it
necessary and essential that Seacrest Boulevard be improved by
Palm Beach County, not only by making said thoroughfare a four-
lane roadway, but by dividing said roadway with median strips
and by providing gutters, curbs, sidewalks and drainage through-
out its length from the south City limits of~ said City northward
to the Boynton Beach Canal;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH~ FLORIDA:
Section 1: That the Board of County Commissioners of
Palm Beach County, Florida, be and it is hereby requested to
take immediate action to provide for the improvement of Seacrest
Boulevard in the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, by making the
said Seacrest Boulevard a four-lane divided highway with median
strips and by providing gutters, curbs, sidewalks and drainage
for Seacrest Boulevard from the south City limits of the City of
Boynton Beach, northward to the Boynton Beach Canal.
Section 2: That a true and certified copy of this
Resolution be furnished forthwith to the Board of County
