A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA,
REQUESTING ~THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF PALM
BEACH COUNTY TO ACQUIRE FOR RECREATIONAL PURPOSES A
PARCEL OF LAND ADJACENT TO THE BOYNTON BEACH BOAT
CLUB.
ATTEST:
WHEREAS, the constantly increasing numbers of people
living and vacationing in Palm Beach County have created a
grave need for additional recreational land along the west shore
of Lake Worth and public access thereto; and
WHEREAS, the demand and need for such recreational and
boating facilities is greater than available at the Boynton
Beach Boat Club, resulting in acute need for additional land
and facilities; and
WHEREAS, the needs and interests of the public, in the
opinion of the City Council of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida
would be best served by the acquisition of such additional
recreational area for Such public use.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
Se'ction:l,: The Board of County Commissioners of Palm
Beach County, Florida, be and is hereby requested to acquire
additional reCreational areas adjacent and contiguous to the
Boynton Beach Boat Club in order to meet the great demand for
additional recreational and boating facilities,
SeCtiOn '2: That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to the
Board of County Commissioners of Palm Beach County, Florida,
Robert F, Culpepper~ Chairman.
Sectio'n 3: That this Resolution shall take effect
immediately upon its passage.
