74-NNRESOLUTION NO. 74-NN
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, ACKNOWLEDGING THE NEED
TO DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT A COMPREHENSIVE PLAIN
FOR THE PURPOSE OF GUIDING THE ORDERLYGROWTH
WITHIN ITS CORPORATE LIMITS.
~IEREAS, pursuant to the recent legislation regarding the
Area Planning Board of Palm Beach County, all municipalities-
within Palm Beach County are required to develop Comprehensive
Plans; and
WHEREAS, the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, recognizes
the potential problems of uncontrolled growth and its related
factors and also recognizes and acknowledges the iramediate need
for proper and adequate planning; and
WHEREAS~ such planning is a necessary and significant
measure to control, guide and regulate future development and
growth within the municipality~
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City of Boynton
Beach, County of Palm Beachf Florida, recognizing that Palm Beach
County and its thirty-seven (37) incorporated municipalities have
substantial growth control problems, supports the Area Planning
Board in its efforts to establish a Countywide Comprehensive
Master Plan to be d.rawn from the planning programs of each of
the municipalities.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the City of Boynton Beach
desires the Area Planning Board staff to review its planning
accomplishments~ studies, ordinances, etc., which are part of the
Comprehensive Planning and implementation process and to prepare
an evaluation of same. The City of Boynton Beach also requests
the Area Planning Board staff to prepare a time and cost proposal
to perform those elements of the Comprehensive Planning process
which are required to complete the Comprehensive Plan for the
City of Boynton Beach, Florida.
