74-EERESOL'UTI'ON NQ',' 7'4-'~_~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON. BEACH~ FLORIDA, URGING .THE'BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF P~JLM BEACH COUNTY TO ACQUIRE THaT FOR PUBLIC USE. WHEREAS, the constantly increasing numbers of people living and vacationing in Palm Beach County have created a grave need for additional recreational land and beach areas and public access there.to; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Palm Beach County, Florida, in recognizing such needs, has consist- ently sought to acquire additional lands for such public use and is presently considering the acquisition of that certain parcel of land lying immediately south of .the Boynton Inlet, as is more fully described on~' ' ' A" Exhibit attached hereto and made a part hereof~ and WHEREAS, there is a great need for additional land for recreational and public access in the immediate vicinity of said parcel, and the public interest, in the opinion of the City Council of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, would be best served by the acquisition of such additional land for said public use. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE 'CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1: That the Board of County Commissioners of Palm Beach County, Florida, be and is hereby urged to acquire that certain parcel of land lying inuuediately south of the Boynton Inlet, as is more fully described on "Exhibit?A" attached hereto and made a part hereof, and that the Board be and is hereby encouraged to pursue its efforts to acquire said land for public use. Section 2: That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this ~Resolution to the Board of County Commissioners of Palm Beach County, Florida, Robert F. Culpepper, Chairman. Section 3: That this Resolution shall take effect ~mm d!ately upon its passage. PASSED AND ADOPTED this ~D~ day of August, 1974.
