A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON
BEACH, FIORIDA~ EXPRESSING ITS DESIRE THAT THE MILLAGE
BE REDUCED TO EASE THE RESULTING BURDEN ON TAXPAYERS
WHEREAS~ there has been a substantial increase in the taxable value
of the properties in the City of Boynton Beach~ Florida; and
WHEREAS, said increase will result in gmeatly increased tax bills
for many property owners in the ~eity of Boynton Beach; and
WHEREAS, the City Council o£ the City of Boynton Beach has reduced
its local millage in order to compensate for the increase in the 197}
appraisal values;
NOW, THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1: The C~ty Council of the City of Boynton Beach hereby
requests that the governing bodies o£ Palm Beach County, including the
Board of Public Instruction~ the County Commission~ the various muni-
cipalities, and other governing bodies, recognize the increase in the
tax roll and the potential burden which threatens the taxpayers of the
City of Boynton Beach and othem areas throughout Palm Beach County, and
that in such recognition, such governing bodies decrease their respective
millage rates accordingly.
