73-VVRESOLUTION NO. 73-VV A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING RULES AND REGULATIONS OF CIVIL SERVICE. WHEREAS~ pursuant to the Charter of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida~ the Municipal Personnel Officer has heretofore recommended certain amendments to the current Rules and Regula- tions of Civil Service of the said City, a copy of which proposed amendments are attached hereto; and WHEREAS~ the City Manager has reviewed said proposed amendments and has approved them without modification; and WHEREAS~ after thorough review of such proposed amendments, the City Council deems that the enactment and adoption of same is in the best interests of efficient administration of the municipal personnel system; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE .~ITY OF BOYNTObI BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1: That the proposed amendments to the currently _=xisting Rules and Regulations of Civil Service of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, attached hereto and hereby made a part .~ereof, be and the same are hereby approved, ratified and dopted. PAGE 13, Section 6, INSPECT!QN OF PAPERS, now reads: Any applicant shall have the right to make one personal inspection of ~is examination papers within one month from the date of establishment of the list. A manifest error in rating a test or test procedure shall be corrected if called to the attention of the Personnel Director within the inspection period. Such-corrections shallnot invalidat any appointment previously made from such list~ PAGE 19 A, Section 1.2, Paragraph 5: PROBATIONARY PERIOD, now reads: If any employee promoted to a higher class as a result of appointment from a promotional list or other list is found unsuited for the work of the class during therprobationary period he shall be reinstated to his former pay grade and step in the class from which he was promoted. 'If no vacancy exists the name of such employee shall be placed on the appropriatere- employment list. SHOULD READ: If an employee promoted to a higher class as a result of appointment from a promotional list or other list is found unsuited for the work of the class during the probationary period he shall be reinstated to his former pay grade and step in the class from which he was promoted. A person filling the position of an employee that has been promoted will hold that position contingent on the promoted employee successfully completing his 6 month promotional probationary period. If the promoted employee for any reason is returned ~to his forme.r position the person filling that position would in turn be returneld then to his former position.. If no vacancy exists the name of such employee shall be placed on the appropriate re~employmen~is~ PAGE 30, Section 10, end of lst.~para~ra_p~, the fo!lowing s_hould be added: The employee performance rating will be used to indicate the eligibitit of an employee for their annual salary increase. If an employee fails to ge an increase due to a poor evaluation report said employee would be eligible for reconsideration upon receipt of the evaluation report covering the following three months~period.
