71-PRESOLUTION NO. 71 - P
WHEREAS, the Municipal Personnel Officer has heretofore
recommended adoption of certain amendments to the Civil Service Rules and
Regulations of the City of Boynton Beach, more particularly set forth herein-
after, and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has heretofore reviewed said
recommemlations and has indicated his approval thereof without modification
to the City Council, all pursuant to the provisions of the Charter of the City
of Boynton Beach, Florida, in such cases made and provided.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNC]
OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
1. That the second sentence of sub-paragraph (a), Section 1 of
Article III of the City of Boynton Beach Civil Service Rules and Regulations
be and the same is hereby amended to read:
"Appointees to positions in the classified service whose
employment is of an emergency nature and who are so
required by the City Manager shall establish residence
within seven (7) miles of the City Hall of Boynton Beach.
All other employees shall live within the County of Palm
Beach."
2. That the provisions of Section 5, Article X of the Boynton
Beach Civil Service Rules and Regulations be and the same is hereby amended
to read:
"LEGAL HOLIDAYS - Legal Holidays to be observed by the
employees of the City of Boynton Beach, unless such employees are required
to be on regular duty are:
New Year's Day
Washington's Birthday
Memorial Day
Independence Day
Labor Day
Columbus Day
Veteran's Day
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Eve Day
Christmas Day
January 1
Third Monday in February
Last Monday in May
July 4
First Monday in September
2nd Monday in October
4th Monday in October
4th Thursday in November
December 24
December 25
Legal Holidays may also include such days as may be
designated by the City Council from time to time. When a legal holiday falls
on a Saturday or Sunday, the Friday preceding, or the Monday following, may
be declared a holiday for the City employees."

In all other respecls subjecl Civil Service Rules and Regulations
are hereby ratified and confirmed as adopted.
