70-BBRESOLUTION NO. 70-B_B___
WHEREAS, much of the nation is subject to air pollution in varying
degrees, with more frequent and severe episodes occurring; and
WHEREAS, air pollution affects adversely plant life, live stock,
manufactured materials, and buildings; and
WHEREAS, air pollution causes, contributes to, and worsens
respiratory diseases in the citizenry, and hastens death in those thus afflicted;
and
WHEREAS, Palm Beach County, Florida, now enjoys reasonably
clean air;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FIRMLY RESOLVED:
1. That the Florida Air & Water Pollution Control
Commission recommend air quality control standards for Southeast Florida
designed to protect, preserve, and enhance the air we presently enjoy without
further degradation thereof.
