A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH,
FLORIDA, APPOINTING A CITY MANAGER, FIXING
HIS TERM OF OFFICE, AND COMPENSATION
WHEREAS, a vacancy presently exists in the appointive
office of City Manager; and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it necessary to fill
said vacancy; and
WHEREAS~ Clarence Q. Jones, Jr. has been interviewed
by the Council and the Council has deemed him qualified for the
position; and
WHEREAS, Clarence Q. Jones, Jr. has agreed to accept
the position of City Manager,
NOW, THEREFORE~ be it resolved by the City Council of
the City of Boynton Beach as follows:
1. That Clarence Q. Jones, Jr. is hereby appointed to
the non-classified position of City Manager of the City of Boynton
Beach, Florida, to serve at the pleasure of the City Council. Said
appointment to become effective at 8:00 A. M. June 1, 1970. The
salary for said office is hereby fixed at $14,800 per year, payable
bi-weekly, with a car allowance of $100 per month.
2. That before taking office or as soon thereafter as
possible, the City Manager shall furnish a fidelity bond in the
amount of $20,000 conditioned upon the faithful performance of
his duties with a corporation licensed to do business in Florida.
Such bond shall be filed with the Clerk after being approved by
the City Council.
