69-HRESOLUTION NO. 69 - H
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida,
has heretofore received indication that the State Road Department of the State
of Florida is considering the construction of a new bridge at the intersection
of N. E. Second Avenue and the Intracoastal Waterway, and in connection
therewith that the existing bridge facility at East Ocean Avenue and the
Intracoastal Waterway is to be removed, and
WHEREAS, after investigation and due consideration, the said City
Council of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, deems that such proposal
would not be in the best interest of the inhabitants of the City of Boynton
Beach, Florida, and would adversely affect property values as well as result
in confusion of existing traffic patterns. ~i cause other adverse effects,
i NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, that the said City Council
hereby goes on record as opposing the removal of the existing bridge facility
i at East Ocean Avenue and the relocation of same at N. E. Second Avenue,
! and further goes on record as supporting the location of any new or improved
I bridge facility at the existing location of said East Ocean Avenue facility.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that certified copies of this
Resolution be forwarded to the Board of Commissioners of Palm Beach
Cor~nty and the Florida State Road Department.
