RESOLUTION REQUESTING THAT THE SOUTHERN
BELL TELEPHONE & TELEGRAPH COMPANY PRO-
VIDE THE COMMUNITIES OF BOYNTON BEACH
AND OCEAN RIDGE, FLORIDA WITH EXTENDED
TOLL FREE SERVICE TO THE WEST PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA EXCHANGES WITH SAME
RATE BASIS AS APPLIES TO THE WEST PALM
BEACH AREA.
WHEREAS, the City of Boynton Beach Municipal Government has a primary
responsibility to its citizens with regard to communication
facilites within its municipal area; and
WHEREAS, there has been a long time effort made by representatives of
this area to obtain toll free telephone communication between
i~oynton Beach and the West Palm Beach area; and
WHEREAS, such toll free telephone communication will be of immeasurable
benefit to our senior citizens as far as making available to
them immediate contact with physicians, surgeons or health
specialists in the West Palm Beach areas; and
WHEREAS, the business community of Boynton Beach may expand its growth
and service area by toll free telephone communication to and
West Palm Beach area; and
from
the
WHEREAS, the general welfare of the entire community will be better
served by such toll free telephone service as mentioned above.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE SOUTHERN BELL TE;~,EPHONE AND
TELEGRAPH COMPANY be requested to provide the communities of
Boynton Beach and Ocean Ridge, Florida with extended toll free
telephone service into and including the West Palm Beach area,
and telephone exchange; and further that this request be
accomplished at earliest possible commencement date; and that
such extended telephone toll free service be paid for at the
West Palm Beach exchange rates.
