R02- ~ I ~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE TASK ORDER NO. 01-12, BETWEEN THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH AND CAMP, DRESSER & MC KEE IN THE AMOUNT OF $148,000 FOR DESIGN, BIDDING AND CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT SERVICES TO CONVERT OUR CHLORINE GAS STORAGE FACILITIES TO SODIUM HYPOCHLORITE AT THE EAST AND WEST WATER TREATMENT PLANTS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Chlorine is used as a water disinfectant; and converting from gaseous chlorine to liquid commercial hypochlorite will improve safety for staff and residents, remove the utility from EPA required Process Safety Management & Clean Air Act compliance, and reduce onsite security concerns; and WHEREAS, the City Commission upon recommendation from staff, deems it appropriate and in the best interest of the residents and citizens of the City to approve Task Order No. 01-12 in the amount of $148,000 to Camp, Dresser & McKee for design, and construction management services to convert our chlorine gas storage facilities to sodium hypochlorite at the East and West Water Treatment Plants. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT: Section 1. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida does authorize and direct the City Manager and City Clerk to approve and execute Task No. 01-12 in the amount of $148,000 to Camp, Dresser & McKee for design, ,idding and construction management services to convert our chlorine gas storage ~:\CA\RESO~Agreements\Task - Change Orders\CDM Task Order #01-12 112502.doc facilities to sodium hypochlorite at the East and West Water Treatment Plants.
