R67-P RESOLUTION NO. 67-?
WHEREAS, the Citizens of the City of Boynton Beach have
expressed themselves as favoring a retirement plan for the City
and
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the importance of
such a plan and is in favor of establishing same and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney has informed the Council
that it lacks Charter authority to establish a pension plan in
the City of Boynton Beach and
WHEREAS, the Council did not have this information in
time to advertise a request for the passage of a Legislative
Act giving the Council the necessary authority.
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the City Council
of the City of Boynton Beach in Special Session this, the 2~th
day of June, 1967, do hereby petition the members of the Palm
Beach Delegation to the State Legislature to pass a Special
Act giving to the City Council of Boynton Beach the authority
to set up a retirement plan for the City employees and providing
for a Referendum thereon.
