Barbara LaDue,
Boynton General Employees PN PL
100 East Boynton Beach Blvd
Boynton Beach, FL 33425
Dear Barbara:
We are sorry that the Boynton Beach, City of General Employees' Pension Plan has decided to terminate its
iationship with Fox Asset Management, inc. as the manager of your account, but we understand that the
ason for the termination is due to the recent departures of certain employees. I am especially disappointed
your decision as I have personally overseen the investment process and the implementation of our
filosophy and discipline since founding the firm in 1985.
successful firms must make difficult decisions as they ~ow and it was my decision to separate the
~nt service function at Fox from the research effort. We felt that this was necessary to ensure that our
ients would continue to receive the investment excellence to which they had become accustomed. Fox's
~ccess stems from a commitment to provide investment excellence and service to our clients, and our
amerous long-term relationships are a testament to the trust and respect that we have earned through the
Jars by adhering to a consistent, disciplined investment strategy.
he process of separating research and client service was initiated over a year ago, and the addition of three
mior investment professionals is evidence of Fox's commitment to the investment process. The current
:vel of experience on Fox's Investment Comm/ttee is unparalleled in its history. Four of the five members
ave founded their own firms, and collectively the Committee has over 90 years of experience analyzing
>mpanies and managing investment portfolios.
~vestment knowledge is learned through years of experience, and not doing something can be just as
nportant as making a purchase or sale decision. Knowing when and ho~v to act is what creates
erformance, and Fox's track record is a testament to our abilities. As you will note from our most recent
uarterly letter, Fox's portfolios have emerged from the market tm-moil with strong relative performance in
~e second half of August, and significantly outperformed their respective benchmarks in the month of
eptember. Our recent results indicate that value stocks have continued ro gain favor with investors and we
utperformed the S&P 500 by about 1.5% for the month of October. We sense that the investmem
tndscape is changing and that valuation and security selection will once again determine superior
~vestment performance.
~n behalf of Fox Asset Management, I thank you for your past support and I hope that we will be
onsidered in the futura to manage Boynton Beach, City of General Employees' Pension Plan assets. We
alue our long-term relationships and will keep you informed of our performance and market outlook in the
~nths ahead.
